I've just been thinkin lately with all the fahaka talk in here in the last couple weeks should I bite the bullet and go ahead and try 1 MORE TIME to Get that big boy I think I've had like 3-4 over the yrs. and I always get them up to about 8-12in. and the some FREAK accident happens and they die my last and biggest one was FRED he died at about 11.5in. in about a year and then I went to jail he died

sally the one before him got up to about 9-10in. and I think she froze to death if I can remember right I had her in a pond with my devil and some convicts they all froze (everybody but the devil in a FREAKY overnight FROST OUT OF SEASON)

the one before sally I think my stepdad fed him something I dont remember exactly about that one but he got up to about 10in.

I STILL HAVEN'T HAD ONE ABOVE 12IN. AND I ALWAYS GET THE LITTLE BITTY TADPOLE LOOKIN FAHAKAS (y'all fahaka keepers no what I mean by tadpole stage 2-3in. guys)

SHOULD I TRY ONE MORE TIME

Well do you have a big enough tank, with the resources to keep one happy and healthy? If you do then I would say yes. My fahaka setup included a large group of breeding ramshorn snails.

I'm not talking about just tank space. Although a big 125+ tank will help it grow faster, and live healthier. You need to be ready for gravel vac cleaning every day, a good solid source of food that has a wide variety, and hard shells that the little one can keep his teeth in good shape.

I think that if you have the time and everything else the puffer will need then I would say go for it, if you get one I hope your luck changes, puffers are one of my favorites, please update on this!

I agree...puffers are great so if you have the tank space and time to properly care for it then definitely get one. I plan to get either a fahaka or mbu this summer and I can't wait. :D

I think I'm goin to pick up another fahaka next week and we'll see if I can keep this one for longer than a year and him up to his full potential 18in.

my biggest so far was 11.5in. grown up from 2in. I will order in the smallest fahaka I can possibly get next week and log is progress here on MFK

Go for itit seems like all mishaps have been due to bad luck and situations that we're beyond your control. None of these deaths occurred because you did not know what you were doing. Now you can use these experiences to benefit your future pet/giant. I would definitely say go for it and let me know how it goes.
