I currently have 5 small ITs and 1 NTT. I was wondering if I can get more. I have them in a 55 for now. Do I have enough room for 1-3 more dats?

Think of the tank you want them to live the rest of their life in and then buy as many as you think might hold that many of adult fish :).

You would probably need to upgrade in a little over 6 months when they've grown a few inches, so you gotta keep that in mind too.

1. Tank Availability + adult size of the fish = how many dats you should get.

Alright thanks i'm just gonna buy 1 more NTT then. I will upgrade to a 125 within 6 months to a year.

Just rember that datnoid are long lived fish. As they get bigger you will need to upgrade your tanks and filtration. You will need to waterchange a lot more often. The amount of good they eat are quite expensive. Not many people think that far ahead. I would buy more if datnoid are what you want to keep forever. Because once they start getting bigger, most people get tired of them and realize the amount of time they must give to these large growing fish. Everyone I know besides myself that I got into dats have given up. It's quite sad

I completely agree and see what your saying. Diet is already pretty expensive, but I am willing to pay and care for these monster fish. I understand the time and effort that needs to be put into these guys.
