hey guys i have a little problem with my female and male res, THE MALE BEATS UP MY FEMALE. i separeated them for a couple of months and reput them together and right away the female turtle got scared and was running away from the male the male is smaller than her and he bites her on the head, legs, shell. i also have a bigger male yellow bellied slider and he gets along fine with my female res. should i get rid of the male res or is there anything else i can do ? thanks alot guys:)

Male Sliders are known for that behavior. They get really mean to the females. I don't see any solution except to seperate them.

They act pretty much the same like a lot of people....

i have heard that when a boy bullies a girl, it means he likes her... thats what my kindergarten teacher told all the girls anyways...

toss some little turtle Trojans in their and see what happens, maybe she just wants protection.

Second enclosure. Thats why I keep diferent sex turts apart

i dunno how old the male is since i bought him he was about 4 inchs ive had him for about 2-3 years. the female is about 3-4 years old and the yellow bellied slider i have abosulutly no clue hes about 8 inches i found him in my neighbours pool and adopted him just a couple of days ago. i notice that the male rres alwasy makes a dance infront of my female and the female ignores and runs away and then he gets mad and beats her. they lived happily the first 2 years i had them will they ever be able to be put back together again
