Should I get this flowerhorn?

So I went to my lfs and saw this flowerhorn. Not sure if it is a boy or not so maybe someone can help me with that. They labeled "him" as a super red flowerhorn. Is that correct? And they had him on sale for $80. Do you think the flowerhorn is a male and is it worth it to get him? I got a female at home and would love to breed them. They'll be in a 55 gallon tank with lots of hiding places with 2 filter combining for 500-600 gallon per hour. please let me know soon so I can possibly go back there tomorrow and get him. Thanks for the help in advance!

it's a ZZ red dragon, super red has the whole body on red! I think it's a male and I would not pay more than $40 for that!
 
Hold off, you could get a much better FH for 80 bucks.
 
ok, thx. Maybe I can talk to the guy there and get him to lower the price to like 25 or something. lol. But it really sucks cause theres only 2 lfs within 20miles of me that sells flowerhorn. and they aren't all that good.

dont bother. if you buy him he would need the 55 to himself anyway. if you really like the female let her live her life happily in the 55 alone. if you want a pair you need to at least double the size of the aquarium that you have. if he is the best available to you; you can try buying online and shipping to you. or purchase him and get rid of or relocate the female. depending on his size i would not pay more than $45 for him.
 
Agree with all above. My girlfriend has a Super Red and she bought it as a fry for like 30$. They grow fast. Already at like 2.5". Consider buying a fry and growing it out. That's the cheapest way to snag them, and 80$ seems like way too much for that guy IMO.
