This guy is between 6"-7" and was bought from a lfs. Is he worth $50?

My LFS was selling a pair that big for $35.

But if you love him, get him. In this hoby, livestock is the cheap part. May as well be happy with what's in your tank.
 
Thanks seedubs. Im not in love with it or anything, just have been having a hardtime trying to find a larger male RTM.

On that note if anyone has one they want to sell lmk, especially if I dont gotta drive 2hrs lol
 
I would pay $50 for a nice male RTM without question. Price is irrelevant, get what you want. If you don't uyou waste money on something cheaper and eventually spend the money getting what you want anyway.
 
I'd expect w/c or F1 in pristine condition for that kind of price. I've bought F1 festae at that size for that price.

Keep in mind that that fish was likely given to the LFS for $5 store credit or free because the person who owned it couldn't house it anymore. The lfs probably doesn't have much/any invested in the fish, and if they can unload it and make few bucks, they probably will.

Go in and tell them you'll give them $20 for it. Worst they can say is no.

The gentleman got it from a LFS 4 months ago and he keeps it with a festaes, islatums, and midas. Im pretty sure im getting it when he calls me when he gets back from his trip. Unless i find a betterr deal.
 
The bottom line is, Is it worth it to you.
$50 is asinine for a convict, But a 7" RTM,
That you really like isn't that bad.
If you are not thrilled with him,
Then he's not worth it.

I've seen 1" EBJDs at LFS go for $45 or $50,
That's crazy! But people pay it. And if they are happy, so be it.

I've spent much more on a fish just because I liked it. If it's something you want then by it. Nobody on here should tell you any different. I would get it if I were you. Good looking fish.

It's worth it in my opinion. If you like it go for it. That rtm looks good! I wouldn't hesitate at all.
