Yesterday I was looking at corals and one caught my eye. I saw an orangish pink coral. I asked the shop owner and he said it was a sun coral. When I got home I started doing research on these corals. From all the pictures Ive seen so far on sun corals they have tentacles. I was wondering if its worth buying. If I do buy it and take good care of it will its tentacles grow back? Its colors are still nice and bright.

Tentacles come out at night & when food is in the tank. The yare non-photosynthetic, whuch is a gooe & bad thing. Good: they can go into a dark spot in your tank & add color where there was none. Bad: must be spot fed meaty foods, which makes them not one of the easier to keep corals.

Ohh ok! Thank you so much! I was wondering why this corals was in a dark spot in the tank. I was thinking to myself, why is this thing so bright even thought its not in the light.

I often see thousands of them growing on the bottoms of shipwrecks. They are spectacular at night!
