should i have an air check valve in my overflow ?

so I just picked up a eshopps 1200 overflow box dual tubes, iam curious if I should drill a small hole in each tube at the very top and silicone in air check valve in them ?

I have heard and read online that you don't lose siphon as long as the tubes stay under the water is this true ?

I have the same one and usually I dont lose siphon but once in a while ill lose siphon on one of the tubes. Ever since I add a mini dorso pipe in the overflow box and the water level is above the pipe housing I dont lose siphon.

Did you upgrade your return pump as well? Sounds more like your like you don't have enough GPH coming back into the tank.

pump is a Sedra KSP-9000 .... im curious as whether I should add something to prevent anything happening is all
