Hi guys, I have just ordered two juvi Electric blue jack dempseys to put in a 90 gallon. I have read on here that they dont move alot and might benefit from other fish being in there?? Is this true? Should i get some other fish to put in with them? The EBJD’s haven’t arrived yet but will soon.
Should I have other species of fish with my two EBJD?

Yes we call them dither fish such as a group of livebearer or tetra.
Yes definitely true helps fish like cichlids behave naturally. The dithers will prevent the EBJD from hiding all the time. In the wild when dithers are frightened from predators this signal danger to others.
Absolutely for the small group of tetra or livebearer.
I would add something bigger than the Neon or Cardinal. Buenos Aires would be my choice.
Okay great, im putting the EBJD in the 90, i got a 10gallon i can quarantine the tetras in. That big enough?
Great, ill get it all cycled and i already got an established filter with good bacteria in it already and a extra heater n light and plenty of decor so im good to go. Ty very much for your help. This is my first time quarantining. Would you recommend 2 or 4 weeks?
4 weeks minimum observe and treat if necessary.
