We'll I was over at my cousins saturday night to visit. So we rented some movies and head down in his basement by his big-screen and I'm watching the tube then I seen his Texa's head from behind a rock staring out. I said so you got a new fish eh, he then asks me if I want to buy it, he said $10 I get a little closer and see its pretty damn big. He said hes trying to get rid of it because it keeps eating the other fish in the tank, and his gf wants some little small colorful fish. Its almost 15" long, its a lil skittish, but even if so I should be able to sell it. I was thinking it was pretty big for a texas, but never kept one before.

He feeds it a varied diet of a bunch of frozen stuff from dr. foster smith, its about a 1/2 hour away from his house.

You might have been over-estimating it's size. That's pretty dang big for a Texas ime. Even if it's 10-12" and you decide you don't want it either, you should easily be able to make your 10 bucks back on him. I say take it.

I would get it but I agree with Balton on the size. If it really is 15" buy and sell it on here cause that would be one of the biggest Texas cichlids ever seen. If not THE.

Yeah that's stupidly big for a texas like a bigfoot story. If YOU HAVE ROOM FOR IT, then get it.. :)

I think I need a picture of this beast.

:iagree: at 15'' that might be a world record:D

do it do it do it

I just talked to him like 15 minutes ago, he measured it and said it was 14.6" on his tape measure, I plan on picking it up this weekend and putting it in my 75g, I'll try to get my digital camera going, I should be able to get some polaroids scanned over though when i get it.

I live about 90 miles north east of Wausau(which is where the fish is located)
