Should I put gravel?

I just set up my 258 gallon pool/pond . Its pretty bare except for some extra decor I had laying around . I was thinling about putting sand or gravel. The bottom is blue and the sides are white . Should I put some subtrate or leave it bare?

what fish are you keeping in it? If you did add substrate, I would just add sand, but I'd be tempted to keep it bare bottom

Right now just a pair of hrps till I get some other stock . It will be cichlids and maybe a stingray or 2. I thought about putting the sand from my 55 in there since I was thinking of changin to black sand

pond? so you can only look down on your fish?
if you like the color of the bottom, why bother? I would think having to clean the bottom would be much easier without while only able to look in from the top.

Its more for the grow out space .not for veiwing . The only fish I would really be veiwing is my hystrix when I get it. I have a few tanks I can set up if I really want to watch the fish swim. I dont like the color of the bottom , I hate blue.
