Well, it could lead to a leak. The tank isn't fully set up yet either. The area you see in the 2nd pic, if I press a little on the outside on the plastic trim I do see moisture/wetness.
Sounds like you want to re-seal
It's easy (technically) but a little labor intensive. I've resealed a lot of tanks. I use a straight edge razor and cut out
all the old silicon. Don't try to just repair a section, I think you will get better results with one "coat" all at the same time method.
Also, I don't think it's necessary to remove the glass panels, just cut out the silicon that's sealing the inside. After the silicon is cut out I use acetone to clean those areas. You can get this where ever paint is sold.
I use silicon 1 and try to get it all down quickly so it's just one coat. just a small bead in all the corners. Then I wet a finger and smear the glue into the cracks so it pushes out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch on each piece of glass.
It dries quickly but I usually wait a couple days before test filling, truly the hardest part for me
I've never had a leak doing it this way. If I try to just cut out the bad section sometimes I get a leak, then I start over and cut all the old silicon out like I should of done the first time.
Good luck!
