Currently I have a single mean as spit female trimac who is a great fish, and has given me countless hours of appreciation and enjoyment. However, I am at a crossroad of some sorts. Solo wet pets are great, but there is something about the movement of a group that is equally desirable I can't breed her, she tares into most mates, and now she's getting close to 7.5" unfortunately 2 Trimacs need more space than a 90 is. And a Male 10" + Trimac is a hefty price. Money I have, Space I do not. So I am strongly over the next month or so going to consider selling her off. And then attempting a slightly more peaceful setup.

2 part question here:

1, would you get rid of an amazing wild trimac? (kinda mad at myself for thinking about it) 2, what options would I have for a 3-6 fish setup in a 90? Ideally I would like to start with more fish, and let a possible pair develop as well. I want to get them all at 1" or so then go from there.

* I still would have a wet pet tank with my Jag in my 110.

Tough choice.you may regret it if u sell her.I know what you mean about the diffe rence, wet pet has much.sounds like you want to change it up, get a group of either: freddies, lyonsi, nics....

Personally, I would keep the Trimac. I've seen your threads about her before and I've always thought she was a great looking fish. But if you continue losing interest, it might not be a bad idea to sell her off. When interest goes away, water changes & maintenance soon follow(personal experience) if that starts to happen, she would be better off with someone else.

I'm in a similar situation, trying to figure out something to put in a 90 gallon that I'll have available when I move out my Vieja growouts. Small cichlids don't really interest me & since its the same footprint as a 75, one bruiser is all you can fit in there and its still tight for adults.

Keep the wet pet! I've made this mistake many times and always regret getting rid of wet pets.

Now if you have room, get another tank but do not lose your trimac.

Any chance of keeping the trimac n getting rid of the JAG? If I had to choose between the two i would keep the tri n put a few fish in the 110...just a thought
