Got my 30 long native tank setup yesterday and all the fish are much more comfortable than they were in the Rubbermaid bin quarantine. The fish are 2 Greenside darters, a green sunfish, and a (creek or river) chub. All of the fish are swimming around checking out their surroundings as of now. Last night was the first night I got them to eat (they are wild caught collected on Saturday) but only the darters were avidly eating the piece of nightcrawler I dropped in, the sunfish only took two nibbles and the chub didn't care at all.

Since they're much more active today and look raring to eat I thought I'd try something different. I bought some live brine shrimp today for them but haven't fed it yet. The reason being is if none of them eat it I'm going to have a brine shrimp population living in my tank. I have a feeling somebody will eat it but I'm worried if they don't.

So in your opinion should I try the live shrimp?

Ya put the shrimp in there all fish will eat them my adult 7" piranhas will still eat it if they see them lol it's a staple food for all my fish

Ok I'll try it. I was just skeptical since I collected them Saturday and they didn't eat Saturday evening, Sunday evening, or Monday evening and only the darters ate yesterday.

Brine shrimp won't live for long in freshwater so be ready to remove their dead bodies if they aren't eaten.

Live black-worms are a good choice as they will thrive in freshwater tanks. My darters loved them as do my tropical fish.
