Should I was my substrate before I put it in my tank? Would it be best if I didn't so I have all the nutriants or whatever that comes with it? LOL, first attempt at a planted tank.

Eco complete does come with a little packet of clarifyer to settle things out in your tank a little faster, but if you plant right away you will notice a fine dust settling on your plants when the water is fully clear.
I would suggest running your system for 24hrs with the lights off before planting with eco complete.

Why would I rinse Florite? Because it would cloud up the water?Pyramid_Party;4500865; said:Flourite could and should be rinsed. But as far as eco complete--don't rinse.
