i was woundering if i should pick up some dats from work i never had one and ive been hearing alot about them do the do well with cichlids? how big do they get ? hows there aggresion what should the tank be set at any help would be great thanks

They dont do well with cichilds mostly because they grow alot faster than dats do and there alot more aggressive than dats. Depends what species. Not really that aggressive of a fish. And i dont get "what should the tank be set at". If you are talking about tempeture 78-85F.

They are really cool fish... they look great in a group of two or more IMO!
Their growth rate is slow. i have them with cichlids they seem to be fine for me.

Definitely get some Dats, just keep an eye on the cichlids and have a backup plan.

Ive got my Dats with cichlids, but they are peaceful cichlids, Geophagines and rams.

Im guessing probably a 140 gal. for one HUGE, HUGE dat.

140g is pretty small. I would say a 200g minimum since they can grow to be 20 inches+.

If he bought a baby Indo I would bet it could be in a 75 for a LONG LONG LONG time!

The only 1" indo I ended up keeping is maybe 3.5-4" now and its been ten months!
