cichlid city
I have a 40 gallon and and i have a red devil cichlid, the problem is i want to add either a maxijet or aquaclear powerhead.Should i do it.the real problem is i dont want to take up tank space by adding a powerhead but then again i really want one in the tank. Will a powerful powerhead take up space. When i say powerful i mean either a maxi jet 900,or a aquaclear model 50.

save your money and buy a bigger tank for tha rd

I agree!!!

Or a new tank for the Butti....... stop talking about filtration and get some proper housing. All the filters in the world won't help you if your tanks are too small.

Thank You...I have been trying to tell this kid that forever...
Everytime I try to log on it's a new post about the same bulls***
Just search previous threads in setup and filtration and you will find all your info about powerheads and filtration...
You need bigger tanks for these larger species...no way two ways about it.

i used to keep my single female red in a 55...that was still to small...it stunted her she didnt pass 9inches...get a 75 at least...and then worry about filtration. like i said before maxijets work fine if your just trying to circulate and airate water.
