Found a hell of a deal on a 125 with stand etc.... He say toward bottom there is a huge chip in glass. He said his tank has been fully running for past 6 months and has held water fine. Is it safe and/or fixable. It really is a good deal but don't want a flooded basement

Will the tank be running when you pick it up? Make sure you ask to see this full of water before buying. Without a pic of the chip it's impossible for anyone to give you an opinion other than "I wouldn't". I have a tank with a chip as well and is fine, I HAD a different tank with a chip and it was not. That said, I wouldn't.
