place my filter at one end up my tank and my air stone at the other to cycle the water?... i figure the airstone blow the water up and accross and my filter which drains back into the tank will force the water on top down and around back to the airstone... good thinking?

That will work, but not that well. You are better off just running powerheads to get water movement.
With the filter intake tube under the serface of the water and the waterfall return on the top ... the flow will be the reverse of what your envisioning. place the air stone at the center of the rear tank wall to compliment the flow and create a barrel roll effect.
