Should my A. Falcirostris be more enthusiastic during feeding time?
When I had my raph in the tank without any other predators he would catch the food as soon as he heard a splash. Then I added a scomb and they were both hesitant to eat infront of eachother.
Now I have a falcirostris with a nandus and I almost never see it eat. I see it with a full belly maybe twice a week, but it's not nearly the hunter my raph was. There are also almost always rosys/guppies in the tank. Occasionally for a few days there will be nothing, but then when I add the fish he shows temporary interested after a few minutes but then ignores the fish.
The store I bought him from had him for over a month and he was by far the healthiest looking barracuda I have ever seen at a LFS. He was about 4" and now he may be close to 5". He is in a 20g, but I am cycling a 40br for him to go in soon.
Anyways, should he be more enthusiastic about eating? Are any species of FW barracuda more like payara when it comes to feeding?
