Here's your basic ethical fish dilemma: should noob's attempt fish rescue? You need look no further than the LFS to find a situation where you ask yourself this question.
A recent trip to the LFS made me ask this of myself. Though rehousing my goldfish, & wanting a FH, I feel obligated to decide if I can give a certain fish (or fishes) a better life.
Even if if that life is short. I also cannot go back to that store until I decide. I want to know what y'all think. They have 5G tanks for God's sake (which is barely big enough for a pea puffer).
They have at least 15 fish in it: 6-8 plecos, 1 parrot cichlid, 2 gobys, 1-2 Jack senses, & at least 5-7 FH. I thought I was going to vomit.
I can't call the "fish police", so what can I do? I even had a nightmare about them! I may can save a couple, but that's all. I've got a 20L, a 10G, & three 20G standard tanks.
Please give me your advice. It's just killing my heart.
