There are several different shovelnose species out of peru, the one you listed is a TSN variety, Pseudoplatystoma Fasciatum, there is also Pseudoplatystoma Tigrinum, Sorubim Lima, Sorubimichthys Planiceps, Brachyplatystoma Juruense, and others
ures is probably the tiger shovelnose catfish....they r pretty common compared to the others i reckon...like the brown one with black stripes?? white belly?
yup, and there's catfish that are considered shovelnose in many different countries outside the family pimelodidae, but it probably has the largest number of shovelnosed catfish.
