Can a full grown Lima shovelnose catfish be kept with Knifefish? I have 2 African brown knives a black ghost knife and a granite knife. All of these fish are under 6" right now just want to know for when they get big

IDK these knives well but in general, if an LSN fits in any predator's mouth girth wise, it may get eaten. LSNs are pretty slender, stick-like fish with relatively very small girth and knives' mouths appear deceivingly small whilst they are not. But I am going by the Chitala, again not knowing much about your knives. IIRC, BGK do not grow big enough to present danger to an LSN.

What about the shovel nose dangerous to. The knives?

Yes. Those knives will get swallowed. Try smaller cats like 4 line pim, Tatia species, and sunspot cats. Those are better choices with ur knives.

If a knife fits in the LSN mouth (which also appears deceptively small - for stealth it is made collapsible), it'd be equally in danger.

These fish are both piscivores aiming for stealth = low profile. A perfect head-on view of a knife is a thin vertical stick. LSN head-on view offers a potential prey to see a thin horizontal stick, lulling the prey into a false sense of security.
