Anyone know anywhere to get a shovelnose sturgeon, ive been looking for new fish and a sturgeon with small size (compared to other) would be ideal. And they are more adaptible temp. wise. This wouldn't be a buy right now thing but when i have the space for one for life I would like to buy one.

Ten years ago they were available, now they are not and I really can't say why. A couple of places still breed them but they are simply not available to the trade. For some reason much less than acceptable fish like the California sturgeon are available.

hmm thanks for the info =( maybe when it comes time to get one someday they will be some

I've been talking to a guy who runs a farm about this lately, He says they are most likely available but there will be a high minimum order. PS i'm in the uk but i would imagine they are more readily available your side as they are native.

the smallest ive ever caught was at the missouri river while fishing for usunfsh along the rocky side bank and a 11" shovelnose hit it. haha i thoguht it was a HUGE bluegill at first
