Many people have asked me to post if Shovelnose sturgeon ever became available and here on e-bay is the first ones I've seen come up. I've discussed this with the guy and he assures me they are shovelnose. He sent me some pics and they certainly look like them, here is the link

They don't look like shovelnose to me, more like the "regular" sterlet hybrids or whites you see often on the market. Shovelnose are much lighter in colour and have flatter heads.
 
You guys might be right, it's been years since I saw a shovelnose, the head looks wide enough to me but the source is suspect, I can't figure out why shovelnose would be coming from California.
 
I'll have to go with the consensus here and on NANFA, they are not shovel nose sturgeon, sorry about that guys and gals.
 
not your fault the guy sent you pics that were of a sturgeon but they don't show the key parts the best to id...
