Hey guys, I am thinking about remodeling my tank for the trimac so I was wondering if you guys could post some pictures of your tanks, the trimac is in a 75. Already have a little black log and two things of plants. But I was just looking around for some ideas.

All the Amphilophus set-ups I've seen have very little in them. Maybe a few rocks or clay pots but not much else. They certainly love to re-decorate.

I am with Adhlc on this. The amphilophus that I've had (and have) are not needy when it comes to cover, so I maximize swimming space.

True indeed!
If kept by themselves I would try to create a stimulating environment that includes places to swim in and out of and moveable objects like small stones, sticks and gravel. But then heaters, sponge filters and pvc work just as well for these fish so it all depends.

There are prob some nice set ups out there. My Trimacs and RD do what they want, basicly throw the stuff in and let them put it where they want it. The only things I can control is the background, the lighting, the substraight I choose and the Items I put in the tank. Placement is always a crap shoot because they redecorate to there liking. My Amp tanks are nothing special to look at just functional. Burried drift wood and rocks bare section of tank bottom and a very large pile of sand in the front.

Couldn't agree more, my red devil's tank has a back ground, gravel, and a large clay pot, thats it. He then moves and rearranges all the gravel the way he likes it. I did try fake plants, but that ended with him shredding them and all the leafs going in to my sump.:irked:

Yep, a few rocks and some water is all i can put in my tank..everything else gets shredded or moved..

Yea my trimac is the same way. I have fake plants in there and he constantly moves them where he wants, he even moves the fake log that I have in there. So I was just wondering what anyone else had done. O-well!
