Im considering taking my 125 SA cichlid tank and going with all mbuna. Ive always liked the super stocked always busy african tanks. Im not really interested in breeding, Ive done it, it was fun, but I just wanna enjoy my tank. Although if things breed, I wont be mad :D.

The filtration is a 20H sump with 5g of bio, ran by a rio HF32 running full bore at 4.5ft of head so 1500ish gph, with 2 1.25" DIY PVC overflows. I dont think that will need to change.

My stock would be haps and peacocks and some various others thrown in there. I havent really thought much about it yet honestly.

Show me some pics!!

Just to clear everything up, You stated you wanted to switch your SA tank to an african mbuna tank. Mbuna is an african word for rock dwelling. Mbuna do not mix well with most peacocks and haps, basically one group or the other.

I can probably snap a picture of my 125 hap/peacock tank a little later.

Haha Oops, I guess I need to research some more. I've always been a SA guy. I bred some mbuna species for a while last year (Labeotropheus trewavasae, labidochromis sp. "mbamba" and "hongi" pseudotropheus saluosi). I never really did the haps and peacocks because of tank size, so I didnt realize the difference. Thanks for clearing it up! Now I really wanna see pics.
