I need ideas for a 20g 30Hx12Wx13H planted tank. Can I see other members on MFK planted tanks under 60g?

12" width will not give u much space to do ur scaping
and if this is ur first scape then i suggest go for at least 18" width

the other thing u can do is, as the tank is small why don't u go for an iwagumi layout, rock scape and only foreground plants such as cuba or glosso or even hair grass

i agree im doing a small tank with guppies haha im gonna tr to crank em out for my dats as a sub hobby inside of mfking

what is a iwagumi layout? Can you post pics? My plan is to make this a show worth small tank. Anything nice will work for me.

the above link should help ya
u will need some serious equipment too i guess
and with the temps u guys have i think it will reduce a little on the equipment

Jib, I likey! iwagumi style is like that one japanese guy in the Tropical Fish Aquarium. This is exactly what I want to do with some Petsmart community fish. what kind of serious equipment would I need?

the most important will be
Filtration
Lighting
A Source for CO2 dispersion in the tank
Fertilizers for aquatic plants
Mineral rich substrate like laterite, or power sand from any good brand

This is going to fun to see a tank full of weeds. I already have the t5 light. can I use HOB filter? how do I get CO2 to disperse?

pll tubes should also help u with the lighting requirements
For CO2, u can get CO2 cylinders from brands such as ADA or any other local brand or u can also DIY CO2 producing concoctions
to disperse CO2 in ur tank u will need a non return valve, a bubble counter with a controller, so that u release only the required amount of CO2 into the tank, then u will need a diffuser in the tank so that CO2 is released in small bubbles into the tank and a jet of water to circulate the released CO2 to be dissolved into the water

yes u can use a HOB for filtration
