Show your DIY Acrylic's

I think I am going to sell my 180g All-Glass, and replace it with a:

96x30x24(300g)
or a
96x30x30 (375) DIY acrylic.

I see alot of wood tanks but not so much with the acrylics. Looking for some inspiration. I have a source for cell cast acrylic and hope to start this in the next month.

About 2 years ago I dismantled a popular 1700 gallon shark tank after the house was sold. This tank was rock solid, well built and is documented on the web. Since then Ive been collecting acrylic panels to build a similar tank and am a big fan of acrylic and plywood construction. I might be able to help you with questions you have. Am a pretty busy guy but try to check the board from time to time.

Sh**! I placed my order for the plexi already and told my wife that I was building the tank. Usually I just do what ever I want, but she is SUPER mega pissed. I mean to the point of maybe this wont be happening.
Two things will happen from this:
1. I continue as planned and really screw up my home life
2. Lose my $150 deposit on the plexi.
3. Finish paying for the plexi and try and sell it to recover my loss.

What did you order and how much do you need to bail out?

You guys are terrible, give a brudda a break...he has to sleep in the same house and they have probably sharp knives in the drawer...If he does all this Man- stuff, she's likely to go "Bobbit" on the Johnson...

Or maybe it was the $6k I spent on a dirtbike last summer to only end up selling 3 months later

Or even yet the $3700 I spent on a telescope to only use once and sell it a year later.....
