Where I'm at we had a blizzard 2 months ago and I lost my fire eel in my 55g. I lost power for over 2 days and the eel and my e-cat were the only 2 fish I was really determined to save. :(
Oh, I also lost my big striped raph cat shortly after power returned.
Anyway, those two tanks are in my living room and I typically have a "show fish" every time I plan a tank. A gorgeous turquoise dragon scale betta is in the tank but I want to plan something new. I FINALLY have a QT tank (20g) so I can add fish to my established tanks. The other fish in the 55 are 2 small striped raph cats and a khuli loach.
I'd like the betta to stay so I have been considering much smaller fish than usual. He is so happy and active in there I won't move him but I'd like to add new things.

It has rocks, a little driftwood, a 2ft, 2-1/2inch, pvc pipe, a few floating plants, usually kept at 79-81F.

Ideas? I want to plan a monster to take over the e-cat's tank when he moves up soon but I kinda like having even just the little betta roaming around by himself. They have quite the personality given the opportunity to show it.
Tetras? More bottom dwellers? Killies? I just don't know.
The two plans I've stuck closest to are a school of glass cats or silver tip tetras.

i'd say a red wolf fish with 2 senegal bichirs.
