Well datnoids dont touch dry food at all. So every 2 days I been giving shrimp to them. Fat tummy of course. But Cichlids like mayan, rose queen, pearsei, zonatum, syspilum, fenestratus,black belt, texas, regani, polleni and snook steals the shrimp so I cut shrimp into chunks and throw in pellet then located dats and drop shrimp closer to them. But of course dats are to slow sometime. Just wondering which food source is better

Pellets is the best. But if you can get them eating everything, then that is best.

I used shrimp to stuff pellets in to train my dats. More than half were on pellets after a week. Never had luck with any of them liking tilapia.

That's about the size i trained mine at. Use small shrimp pellets to train then slowly feed less shrimp and eventually they will take the pellets

What pellet do you use? I use hikari gold and nls and extreme
