Just got my rope today, i know he prob wont eat but i was wondering how long to leave the pellets in there...they have been in since like 7pm it is now almost 11... i only have 1 other fish atm (royal pleco) and have already dropped an algae wafer in for him, those things are huge!
*note to self, only use 1/2 wafer for 2 in. pleco...*
thx for the help!

If the tank can take the bio-load, I would drop it in after lights out and leave it there overnight so it has some time to settle down and eat when it feels most comfortable. You might want to try some HBH soft pellets as they seem to take to them more easily.

ok well i left them in overnight, and they were just moved around...

i would just wait a day and try it again. it may take a week or two or even longer for it to eat, but HBH soft are probably your best bet if you wanna go straight to pellets.

I was told by lfs that he was scavaging flakes from bottom of tank the day before I got him. Is it ok to get him on pellets and give him feeders every once and a while?

yea he eats them now, but only at night when im not looking lol

cool, so just get some sw shrimp (like peel 'em and eat 'em shrimp) from the store and toss a piece in for him?

yeah chop it up real small so they can swallow it. i throw in uncooked ones. not too many though. one or two small pieces to see if it takes to it.
