I have had my 10 gallon tank for 6 weeks now, and 4 of those weeks with an amano shrimp. The ammonia levels are still off the chart, I guess my nitrogen cycle has not completed yet. They have been off the chart for the past 4 weeks. Despite that, my shrimp is surviving. How is this possible considering what I have read regarding their sensitivity to ammonia?

The tests are being done with liquid droppers.

They're not surviving. They're dying. They won't live long beyond this.

Thats bad. Most likely suffering. Maybe you should have waited for the cycle to complete or at least start with some cheap rosy reds.

keep up with the WC for the next few days and that will help establish your tank as well as make your shrimp survive. otherwise it'll be frustrating.

Yeah you will probably have a huge amount of deaths soon, what you could do to prevent it is put new water in it huge amount and continue to do so every few day's
