I found a couple of these cool antique 5 gal. distilled water storage jugs and would like to turn 1 into a planted shrimp tank. I'd like to have shrimp that will reproduce and keep a sustained population without having to buy more. I know of the cherry red shrimp that will reproduce in completely FW, but I'd also like some variety, so are there other species, or even just other color variations of the same species as the cherry reds available?

there are tons that will. rcs, crs and many many others.

can you raise ghost shrimp?? hate to but in on his question but i thought it went along..

I believe that ghost shrimp need to be raised in brackish water

I didn't even remember the bamboo shrimp on there, I never liked how they looked so never really thought about keeping them. sorry bout that, but no they won't reproduce.
