I want to have a few Cherry Shrimp or Amano Shrimp with some Neon Tetras in my small 5 gallon long tank that Im about to start, but I dont want to go through the trouble of dechlorinating every water change.

Im used to just filling up a bucket full of water from the faucet in my bath tub. My Cichlids seem to be fine and they breed often. Theyve been living in this water for years.

Im not exactly sure if my water has chlorine, chloramine, copper or any of that stuff thats bad. Are shrimp, particularly Cherry Red Shrimp REALLY that intolerant of chlorine and whatever might be in my water supply. Are there any common Shrimp that do tolerate those substances?

Wait. You've been using just tap water for all this time and your fish aren't dead? Go to your local water companies website and find out whats in it.

I do that.
Never have had a problem, in YEARS.
I wouldnt reccomend it though, and I do keep dechlor on hand just in case.

Well I do have some AmQuel (not AmQuel+). It says it removes ammonia, chlorine, chloramine. I used to use it specifically to remove ammonia in new tanks but I havent had any ammonia problems in a long time.

If I was doing anything wrong, my fish would have died ages ago. Im just afraid of getting shrimp because of how delicate people say they are.
