Shrimp with free worms ?

Hello all
I was feeding my tank tonight with Ghost shrimp and saw one that was abnormally full of something white.
as I looked closer I saw what looks like a internal worm :WHOA: :eek:
Here is a pick what do you think ?

yes it has been removed from the tank
and no I didn't see any more with this

This isn't the first time worms have occurred wirh ghost shrimps. These are horsehair worms. Destroy all your shrimps and do not buy any more new shrimps. Keep your new ones under quarantine. The adult worms would have laid eggs by now. A month or two without shrimps is all you need to ensure the lifecycle is destroyed completely. The worms will not hurt the fish though.

No. They cannot be harmed by those worms.
 
OUCH! Think about all the pain the shrimp feels.
