I am having a rough time keeping fish these days... I heat stroked my green sunfish 3 days ago (9.5" had her for at least a year...) my wifes fish can't float...see my other post about the fancy problems...Now I come out to check on things this morning and one of my donated 9" Shubunkin's can't swim upright or float?!

It is stressed out and FYI is a one eyed fish (raccoon injury from previous pond life) and I noticed it was being nudged and 'picked on' by it's tankmate (another similar sized Shubunkin) last night (12:30AM) All was good though all fish were in good shape.

Here's the thing. I know it must have gotten spooked in the dark last night and hit something hard enough to hurt itself bad. How long should I wait to euthanize? If it can't swim right now, is this something that it would even heal from??

If it comes to putting this fish out of its misery-what is the best (quickest) way to do it with only household stuff?
