I have the opportunity to buy a RTC x TSN :nilly:
The fish has a SN body with a RTC face
Any info would be great, size? tanksize?
Anyone have one of these? or pics?

thx..

necro can help ya with that.. but i can start off..

they get HUGE.. probably in the 3 - 4ft range. gonna need a HUGE tank/indoor pond by the time they become adult size. But you can grow them out in large aquariums.

necro started a hybrid catfish thread.. check it out.

beautiful pic of your's john, looks like your channel cat was screaming lol. Yeah, anyways, rtc x tsn as many people here can attest make it to 3' very fast. No one has had one long enough to say how large they can get yet. I have one close to 3', and there are several other members with them at this size or larger. In thailand they have been caught over 40 lbs, and around 3 1/2'. To say they least you should plan on housing them like you would a tsn or a rtc. Plan for a 4' monster and hopefully he'll never make it to more than that seeing as how you would have to have a tank like john's above for one much larger. They are amazingly tame and you can pet them and hand feed them like the rtc. They don't spook as easily as tsn, but they are extremely predatory like tsn. They stay a gorgeous dark brownish green hue, and their spots get smaller as they grow. They really vary in looks from individual to individual. Some look like rtc with tsn markings, others look like tsn with a rtc head, and so on, and so forth. There's a wealth of info that you can find with a simple search or also by looking up in the stickies above the catfish forum. Good luck.

Wouldn't personally one without my ponds unless you can make or buy a very large aquarium. Could be kept in a 500 gal for a long time, but would eventually need closer to 1000 gals to do it justice. Mine is in a 350 gal pond for the time being, and once my other cats are up to par he will join them in the 1100 gal, and that will even be eventually upgraded in the next 2 years.

Necro said it...

a good info & advice.

It's ghetto fabulous. All the neighbors think I put a pool in the garrage for the winter. Most don't know that I have fish in there.

I was looking at those probably at the same store as Gudjon was looking and they're gorgeous. Probably 3-4", TSN mouth, red-ish tail and tsn markings on a rtc body.

I'm thinking about getting 2-3 for my 3000 gallon pond...
