Hi Guys,

I have a 2.0"+ Oscar fish and it is in a 75G tank by him/herself. There were three large discus in that tank, and the Oscar has been very active until I removed all the discus.

He/she doesn't come up to the surface anymore. It's odd.

Should I move him to a 20G tank? I think he is scared of being in a big tank by him/herself?

Mine is going, through the same thing, right, now and no leave it in the 75 oscars are drama queens he might be like that for 3 days or maybe 2 weeks but just it get over its little fit. It will come around!

I thought Oscar fish are bold and with strong personality, don't scare of anything.

I'm surprised to see this.

BTW, would you guys recommend any Hikari brand food stick, chichlid pro-gold pellets? I know he/she is still small.

I am just wondering what should I feed him/her as a staple food when it gets bigger like 4"+

Are there any meal worms or cricket in the can?

If you have had your net in there catching the discus he will be shy for a few days to a week, he will get over it soon enough,

I would recommend you feed hikari cichlid hold, baby pellets now as your staple I like this diet for oscars. 3 days a week hikari cichlid gold 2 days a week brine shrimp or blood worms 1 day a week a live food like nightcrawlers meal worms or ghost shrimps. You should feed your baby oscar 3 time a day until it reached 5 inches then cut, back to 2 times a day until it hits about 8 or 9 inches then feed once daily and they are extremely smart fish and do remeber things it will take a bit for him to get over it.

My Oscar doesn't eat frozen blood worm. He just spits out.

I guess I would have to use my fish food feeder and feed him at noon.

In recent tests goldfish have been proven to have a memory of up to 9 months, and Oscar's are more intelligent then them, give it a few months of owning yours and studying it and you will be shocked at its intelligence
