Recently aquired a 4.5" F1 male Dovii through jeff rapps, very healthy and nicely colored fish eating very well on hikari gold floating pellets and earthworms however he tends to be very shy. He flashes colors and flares gills when he catches his reflection in the tank glass but the fish spooks very easily and hides if I even move about the room, only when I am very still or with the lights dimmed/off does he come out and swim around. Was thinking of adding tankmates but I dont want to go through the whole thing of trying to give them away once he is big enough to be a danger to them. Any ideas on how I can get my dovii to come out more would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
