Hi all

Not sure if this is the correct spot to be posting.

I moved a few weeks ago, and my tank was upgraded from a 90g corner to a 120g (5 ft long).

I have 3 green severums, 2 rainbow cichlids, a blood parrot and some platy/swordtails. Sadly, one blood parrot did not make the move. I mentioned in another post, I think I had a mini cycle, however, ammonia and nitrites are now 0 and nitrates are now between 5-10. Temp is about 77. I have an FX4 and a wavemaker for extra agitation (the FX4 did not seem to be providing enough surface agitation, I am debating changing the output nozzle to a bar instead).

The parrot and swortails/platys are all swimming fine. However, the 3 green severums seem to be hiding often among the plants (they used to be out quite a bit in the old tank), and the rainbow cichlids have more pronounced black colouring and were hiding in the rocks for quite a few days/are fairly skittish now.

Is it just them getting used to the move/new tank? Or is there something I should be concerned about?

Yes they are getting used to the new tank, and the other blood parrot maybe asserting his dominance over the whole cichlid bunch, establishing new territory (while you are not in the room or maybe even at night).

Is there anything I should do, maybe move the tank? The BP is definitely the largest fish, and is a female, as she often lays eggs.

Just keep the lights off above the tank, and use the room light for the 1st week or so. It will allow them to see further in the room when the tank light is off.
