Hey guys, i have a jack and a GT in a 55 and they both seem overly nervous? When i watch them away from the tank they are both very active and chilled but as soon as i get close to the tank or walk past it they skit out. Im worried this will lead to them knocking the glass off the top once they get larger. Is there any way to decrease this or is it just these fishes personalities?

They may just need time to acclimate fully which can take weeks. Dither fish might also hep like giant danios.

there are a few dithers in there at the moment. i hope they do become settled soon. Is it normal for my gt to get a dark horizontal line when stressed?

Not sure i've never had a GT before but it's not uncommon for stressed fish to show bland coloration.

if those pics are current on your profile pic i would just say it is because of how young your fish is. looks to only be about 3 inches maybe? i am sure they will settle with age once they get past thier instinctual "wild" behavior

the black band is common also. you will want a bigger tank for those fish in less than a year i would bet.

My GT gets that black stripe whenever she is "convincing" the other fish that the tank is hers and hers alone.
