shy oscar

so the oscar in my 55 gallon has been in there for about 4 months, and he is 4.5 inches long. he used to be this very active fish, always begging for food but now after i had a firemout in that tank he became kinda/very shy after the FM showed aggression and kinda have him a sore on the top of his back (shown in the pic). i took out the FM a week ago and hes still shy. he eats food if its in his face but i dropped in a nightcrawler and he didnt even CARE!!! those are his fav! so i suspected a parasite and i treated with prazipro 24 hrs ago. when do you think he will be the personality-full fish he is? im wondering because they do pout or sulk around like after water changes but not for weeks on end. it looks like hes pouting, but endlessly. seriously any responses are super helpful

It was the alpha of the tank, until you added the FM, this changed its status to a subordinate level.
And it may take weeks, even months to regain the confidence to return to an alpha position.
Any other cichlid you add to the tank from now on could be problematic, especially if you want a return an anthropomorphic personality.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Cichlids seem to do better with odd numbers - or at least not two fish specifically. As long as they aren’t fighting then just give the Oscar some time.
