Sweet Home Alabama
I recently got a beautiful Red Devil from Ken Davis.
He is in a 180 with 4 Silver Dollars.
He has established his dominance and chases the SD's.
He is very active when I am not close by, but when I open the top to feed he heads to his cave and stays there for quite a while.
Water parms are perfect and he seems very healthy and happy.

What really gets me is that I have not seen him eat.

Are RD's nocturnal eaters, or strange about when they eat?
Would they rather eat off the bottom, top or does it matter?

I have tried NLS sinking pellets, OmegaOne floating pellets, shrimp, blood worms, beef heart, worms, crickets, and flakes.

Please advise.

How new is he?
Might just be getting accustomed to it..is it wild caught, meaning has it been in a tank before you?
Im sure real soon hell be acting normal and eating a ton. Do you have any pics?

I'll take some pic's tonight.
I assume he is an F1 and probably lived in a tank with many other RD's.
I have only had him two weeks.

He'll get used to presence and see you as a food source. In no time he'll be glass banging.

My midas was the same way, but only for a week. I am in and out of my place a lot, so I would feed it a very small amount each time I until it associated me with food. Now it eats some things right out of my fingers and bites anyone else who tries holding their finger over the water. It could just take time, doesn't matter how many tricks you try.

Here is a pic.
I added about ten rosies/feeders and they were all gone the next morning.
I don't imagine the SD's ate them.
I know the risk of feeders, but I wanted to try and stimulate his appetite.
I also get the feeders from a reputable LFS.

I still haven't seen him eat.
