Ok this is mainly directed at 'satans goldfish' Also any1 else who would like to comment or add feedback that will/might improve this rtc's shyness.........In this tank he is fine, doesnt breath lethargicly and doesnt form any redness of the skin caused by stress (displays all these signs when he is in with the big cats). I was going to put a couple of baby hybrids in with him 1st but then decided to use a large pleco. His 1st reaction was suprising as he seemed to be happy to see the pleco, strangly enough, still is. All input welcome and or any other ideas on how to fix this beautifull rtc's tempremant ;)

That's defianetly one pretty RTC i'm getting there!

How big are your RTCxTSN hybrids? The 2 smaller ones it'll eventually end up with are nearly 1ft now so if yours are similar it might be worth trying one of those next.

I do have a smaller, world's slowest growing RTC which i might put in the tank to try and bulk up a bit so it might have to share with that to start with and see how it copes with a smaller rtc.

'Big Fella' the larger RTCxTSN and Fluffy don't bother the 2 smaller RTCxTSN or the RTC so it won't get picked on in the pond which might help long term.

She is a pretty sight isnt she ;) im allways saying he so ive decided that this 1 has to be a she. The rtcxtsn are roughly 8-9", they are very active lil fish, i have a vid of them aswell to update the thread i done bout them when they were babys. It might be worth trying molly, just decided she is called molly too :D, in with the smaller rtc or any smaler cat you have, she seems to prefer the smaller fishys. Try her in the pond 1st and see what happens but dont leave her in there too long m8, she does get very panicky so if you see that going on then get her out asap and go with plan A :D

Roger, sounds like a plan. Pond's a big footprint of water so might be ok with her own hiding place in there.

HMMMM i think molly could poss be a bully herself dude!!!! I put the smaller rtc in with her and the reaction was nothing like we got with the pleco. She attacked him straight away and wouldnt let up, her breathing increased also instantly too.

I reckon if she is a bully then she likes to pick on the smaller fish, whilst in the bigger tank with the bigger cats, she cant do that as they fight back with force!!!

It seems to be the logical explanation so maybe she will be cool in the pond and might learn something, bullys allways gota learn sometime eh ;)

Yeah could be the explanation. there'll always be plenty of hiding spaces in the pond so smaller fish can get away. The general lesson to be learnt in the pond seems to be 'don't upset fluffy and you'll be left alone' so molly should fit in well.

heres the vid, you can clearly see that she doesnt want him around :)
