I've just been to Bangkok with a few mates and managed to go look at the Siam aquarium there. the salt water displays were impressive but what caught my attention was the freshwater tank. There were 3 or 4 large freshwater tank with tankbusters including arrowanas, tiger shovel nose, paroon shark?, red tail cats, gigas, datnoids, channa, gars, and also smaller freshies like silver dollars and african cichlids.
I apologise in advance for the quality of most of the photo's as i didn't take my DSLR on the trip, but i thought i'd throw them up anyway so you get the idea.
This was their monster tankbuster tank. The biggest gigas in there would have been close to 2m in length. For scale, my shoe size is 11.5US
This tank had a unusaul mix, including Clown Knife, Datniod and Channa. i'm not sure what the silver fish are??
This tank was mainly arrowanas.
This tank was their 'prehistoric tank' not sure on any of the species in it
And a couple of their other displays
We also went to a Monastery where they had this dirty old pond that we thought nothing of when we walked in. Upon closer inspection though i noticed just a couple of fish LOL
