I've got 3 small ST's (largest around 6-7cm, other two slightly smaller) in a 3'x18"x18" tank, plenty of wood, java fern, hiding places etc. Recently the largest has turned nasty and constantly harasses the other two to the point where they can't move without him chasing them!
I was about to chuck him in my big tank to see how he'd play with the big boys (10" ST and 14" ornate) but decided it could be an expensive mistake [snack] and I should consult the experts first! :D

Any suggestions? Should I add a couple more, or swap it for another one?

when they are all around the same size your going to have a more dominant one who chases and harasses the others, adding more spreads out the aggression, as for adding with the other fish i would not as the ornate mat eat it.

I am having a similar problem. I have two IT and the larger one will not quit harassing the smaller. There is also a Frontosa and Leopard Bushfish in with them. He doesn't really mess with those guys. I too want to put him in with bigger fish, but don't want it a snack either.

So adding more is a good idea?

Hmm, so how many more is more? 1? 2? 5? 10? The plan was to grow these three out to go with my one 10"er once they're big enough to not be eaten. I don't really want to have to have a group of more than about 4-5, they've got big mouths to feed!!
I might try swapping the aggro one for another of similar size (if I can find one...)

I'm heard you can mix them. I tried putting a 5"er with my 12"er and they played nice till the big boy wanted to show dominance. When he did he didnt bite, just bumped the other guys side and pushed him around the tank ;)

But I'm thinking of dumping them 12"er , and 5 5"ers in my new 210. I think more water and a new tank may force them to to be less dominant in a new enviroment.

i have a 12inch ST with a 2inch NGT no problems at all lets see the NGT bully that :D

the key to mutipule tigers is diffrent sizes if you have them all the same size they will fight all day long

get about 15 with no hideing places or all diffrent sizes

i sold all of my 12inchers becuse the fighting was a joke

Different species may help also. I'm not saying there will be no fighting, but Dats are more likely to fight with there own kind then a diff species of Dat.
