Okay, so the two largest faded malau I have are showing signs of spawning.

The largest one that is still fading, has been pushing gravel around the back of my tank, and today I noticed that it and the nice bright red/orange sibling and it are swimming side by side patrolling the spawning site.

I added a piece of slate so that hopefully they would stop pushing gravel around for now.

Should I allow them to spawn?

i dont see why now. fishes are different from humans as you can see so there arent restrictions to siblings breeding. but if your grossed out by it you can always block them off.

Sure.
Almost every pure breeds that are paired are usually siblings from the same batch when owners buy them in a bunch as grow outs, and possibly their parents, grandparents, great grand parents and so on are all siblings to each other except the wcs. Not saying all, but think about it and how ppl grow out and pair their pairs.

I don't see anything wrong with a first time or 1 time. Go for it and good luck.

Cool, thanks for the help bros.

It's not so much that I was grossed out by it since they're fish, I was mainly worried about genetic defects.

You make a good point Au Duong Phong, a lot of captive farmed fish can be considered siblings spawning with 'new blood' injected every so often.

it is called line breeding. it is how most of the aquarium fish were bred to get desired traits. longer fins, different colors, etc. it is another arguement like hybrid/ no hybrids. line breeding is more accepted though.

Cool, thanks for the info Terminal.

This morning, the two weren't so cozy with eachother anymore, and I saw a slight tube showing on the bright orangeo ne, and I'm guessing both of them male.

I have a parrot in there, and it's getting super colorful lately, maybe ready to breed?

I am not a fan of this. I would separate them. This is how giant belt buckles and trailer parks got started. :D

well in my opinion you can as long as you are not planning on bring the babies in aquarium trade.
