SICK ANGEL

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

I can see its some kind of open sore, can you guys accurately tell what this angel is suffering from, so I can better treat it. Its the smaller one , close to the tail.

Do you have any other fish in with it? Ulcers on angels usually means somethings had it's way with it. For now raise the temp, add salt and do water changes and well try to fix it as soon as we know more about whats going on.

What to do

When doing digifoto's use the macro option (flower) zoom out and get close to the fish. Use internal lighting rather then flash. Also clean off your tank we see more water marks then fish

Give us some details about your tank... mates and get a parameter check from a petchain. They do it for free, and our advice is free so use those to your advantage.

Get out of houston.... there is a storm comming your way....

thanks, been watching too much tv and had to get online to get away from it all. Nice escape to MFK. as for tankmates, they are listed on my signature (135 gallon). no one shows any signs of anything which is the weird part. i thought of separating the angels into a hospital tank, but unsure what to treat them with. what exactly should i be looking out for in water check. have freshwater master test kit just received today. will that help to check for something vital to these sores.

If a week or so of clean, salted water like sugested by Waldo doesn't start to heal it consider an antibiotic, Also, what else is in the tank, I have had a couple angels develope sores after being startled into bouncing off rocks by fast moving fish. Adding garlic to the diet would not hurt as well.

Hmm. you might want to net the fish and take an ear swab with some Iodine (brown liquid) on it. It will help it scab and get rid of any bacteria.

what temp should I keep the tank at .

It can be kept at the normal range for angels, 80-82 degrees F. is good.
