I have three Anubias plants in my 20L. One small and two large. The first large one I have had for a few months, and the second large and the small I have gotten in the past couple weeks, the large being last night. They are all from the Top Fin bran(PetSmart or Aqueon?), which come in the little plastic cylinders with the clear gel. The larger ones have what looks like little brown fuzzy growths, not more than an 8th of inch in diameter. I'm not sure if the first came with the spots, but it has had them for the past month or so, but the one I just bought already had some growths on it. The new small one is clean. They grow on the base of roots coming off the rhizome, and the base, middle, and top of the stems. The plant is very week at these spots and the stems break at the growths, and the leaves fall off if they grow at the top of the stem.
If I can get enough light on the tank(using daylight right now, not afraid of algae blooms) I will take some photos with my dslr w/ macro lens to ID the type of Anubias and to get a close up of the growths.
I can give more info about the tank/setup/stock if anyone asks. Also I did a 100% percent water change last night, and rinsed the plants in tap water(has chemicals) before I put them back in, and put in ~ six root tabs for the first time. The only unclean water is from two small bags of fish from Pet Smart last night...
