Sick Asian Arowana

Hi all, I'm new here and I found this site after trying to find advice on what might be wrong with my Arowana, which no aquariums in my area had any idea about!!! He's about 50cm and Ive had him for about a year now, but he's stopped eating (3 Days) and he's really sluggish, which is very unlike him. it's just starting to get really cold here, we haven't needed a heater before as Queensland is fairly warm all year round, could this be the problem?
Any advice is welcome, I'm really worried about him!!

Probably. aquarium fish take a while to get use to temperature change. btw if you did get an asian aro shoudlnt you be taking care of it? getting every one of its needs?
